So far CPSP has trained six hundred fifty dental specialists which includes four hundred fellows. At present over one thousand postgraduates in dentistry are under training in six specialties for MCPS and FCPS, he added. He commended the contributions of  FJDC in the field of dentistry and said that CPSP under arrangements with the Royal Colleges in UK has also arranged  half of the training period of its postgraduates in UK  while the half duration of training they can complete in Pakistan  but they must come back to Pakistan to be eligible for examination.  CPSP, he said, will continue to support all academic activities of Fatima Jinnah Dental College. He called upon the fresh dental graduates to opt for future career in periodontology as there was a great shortage of dental surgeons in this discipline and the numbers of patients who need to be looked after were huge. Dentistry he further stated was a noble but challenging profession.

Prof. Muhammad Qaiser Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi in his address reminded the fresh dental graduates of their responsibilities and called upon them to serve the patients and the poor in particular with devotion and dedication. The professional knowledge you have gained should be now put into practice. He also advised them not to go for any short cut in life. He was happy to note the tremendous progress made by FJDC over the years. Currently there are thirty six dental colleges in the country and I am happy to note that faculty of this institution is interested in research. Institutions are known by the quality of its faculty and its research work, he remarked.
