 Jehan-e-Maseeha Adabi Forum formed

KARACHI: M/s PharmEvo Pharmaceuticals which has been quite active in promoting reading habits and Urdu literature formally launched the Jehan-e-Maseeha Adabi Forum at a meeting held in the city on June 4th 2016.  Prof. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui a well-known literary figure and currently Vice Chancellor of Ziauddin Medical University presided. It was attended by healthcare professionals interested in Urdu Adab literature and poetry. Khawaja Razi Haider a noted poet, critic and former Director of Quaid-e-Azam Academy has been named as the National Coordinator while Prof. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui has accepted the invitation to be the Hony. President of this literary body.

Speaking about the aims and objectives of this Adabi Forum Dr. Iqbal from PharmEvo pointed out that we are dealing with the healthcare professionals and apart from our routine pharmaceutical business, we realized that we must make some contribution to the society by way of promoting Urdu Adab as well. Hence, from this platform we intend to promote doctors with literary interest. We also plan to organize Mushairas in various cities which we have been doing in the past as well. We might also organize an Evening with a Poet selected form within the medical profession, institute awards in the name of those doctors who are known for their accomplishments in the literary field besides arranging Book Launching ceremony etc. We will have a website of Jehan-e-Maseeha Adabi Forum. Membership of the Forum will be open to all those healthcare professionals who are interested in Urdu literature and later on we might also plan to have Regional Coordinators of this Jehan-e-Maseeha Adabi Forum.

PharmEvo has recently formed Jehan-e-Maseeha Adabi Forum with Prof. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui
VC Ziauddin Medical University as the Hony. President. The group photograph taken on the occasion

Prof. Saher Ansari, Kh. Razi Haider and others.

Prof. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqi speaking on the occasion commended the efforts of PharmEvo for taking up this great mission. It is a much wider subject. People in PharmEvo and the institution itself believes in positive thinking. They are keen to improve the society and wish to highlight good positive things happening in the society. Jehan-e-Maseeha Adabi Forum, he further clarified, will be supported by PharmEvo but it will be an independent forum as regards its functioning. State of affairs of higher education in Pakistan, Prof. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui said, was depressing and everyone is busy in his/her professional life running after professionalism though each one of us should first be good human beings.  Now human touch is missing. We wish to have doctors with a human touch and not robots. Our future generation of healthcare professionals is not versatile and they have no interest in humanity, literature and Adab. After this initiative by PharmEvo it can spread to other professions like Engineers and Economists etc. We need to infuse these virtues and literary interest in our future generations, he added.

Later all the participants gave various suggestions and it was also emphasized that whatever we plan and do must be sustainable in the long run, hence it will be much better to remain focused. Mr. Shakil Ahmad Director Marketing and Sales thanked all the participants for attending the launch meeting.
