 Otsuka awareness campaign against Hepatitis

All Healthcare professionals including Paramedics
should be targeted to create awareness against
Hepatitis - Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan

KARACHI: During the last few years incidence of pricking if IV Infusion bottle has declined in urban areas due to awareness programmes. However, Paramedical staff which is the backbone of health delivery system, also needs to be educated to avoid unethical practices. Doctors in urban and rural areas should be targeted separately to create awareness against Hepatitis looking at their practice habits. These views were expressed by Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Associate Professor of Surgery at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi while performing the Otsuka lucky draw held at Otsuka Head Office on 24th January, 2018. Mr. Arshad Khan, Marketing Manager, Dr. Ammar Masood, Mr. Zubair Ahmed, Dr. Arooj Aslam and some members of Marketing and Sales team from Otsuka were also present on this occasion.

Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan further stated that in our rural and far flung areas use of unnecessary injections is a very common practice by General Practitioners and quacks which could be a major source of hepatitis spread and other viral diseases. It could be controlled by educating general public by using electronic and print media. Our healthcare providers should ask for quality products to avoid complications because poor quality preparations are a major source of infections. Dr. M. Iqbal lauded the efforts of Otsuka Pakistan which is doing service to the humanity by providing quality products, creating awareness regarding deadly diseases and following ethical marketing practices.

Earlier Mr. Muhammad Arshad Khan Marketing Manager Otsuka Pakistan highlighted the aims and objectives of this Otsuka awareness campaign.
