SHIRAZ (ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN): Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) which is the third major database after ISI and Scopus at present covers four thousand journals from OIC as well as non-OIC countries which include 1046 journals in Science and Technology. Journal Citation Report are published in English, Persian and Arabic while it plans to cover French language as well in the near future since French is spoken in many Muslim countries.

LAHORE: The first plenary session during the Simulations conference held at University of Health Sciences from November 20-22nd had four speakers. Dr.Vikram Jha from University of Liverpool was the first speaker who spoke on involving real patients in health professional’s education. He talked about patient narrative to promote patent safety, awareness, active patients units in the educational process, patient’s involvement in education policy and patient safety.
KARACHI: Diabetes is a chronic, debilitating and costly disease. Currently there are 382 million people living with diabetes worldwide. By the year 2035 five hundred ninety two million will be suffering from this disease. This was stated by Dr. A. Lt. General Muhammad Arshad Mizra renowned physician and cardiologist of the Pakistan Armed Forces and Pakistan passed away on 24th June 2014. The cause of his demise was cardiac arrest. He was 86. He was born on 7 May 1928 in Jullundur, Punjab, India. He had early education at Jullundur. During his student days he was an athlete and a prominent foot-ball player- led the Punjab University team in the 1948 inter-university foot-ball championship.

A large number of thalassaemia patients, parents, doctors and volunteers from all the 46 Thallasemia societies and centers working in the country attended the national conference.

The objective of the walk was to provide awareness among the masses that how to protect from diabetes and save future. The walk was led by V.C. Prof. Zahida Baqai. The faculty members of Baqai Medical University, deans, students and distinguished guests from (NADEP) participated in the event.
