ISLAMABAD: After detailed deliberations between the Pharmaceutical Industry representatives and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), Ministry of Health Regulations, a formula was worked out for the increase of drug prices annually which was linked with Consumer Price Index keeping in view the inflation and increase in cost of production. Speaking at a meeting organized by the PPMA at Karachi sometime back the Federal Health Secretary Mr. Ayub Sheikh had announced that once this formula is implemented, the industry will not have to apply for increase in drug prices.

RAWALPINDI: Lt. Gen. (R) Mahmud-ul-Hassan, a highly decorated member of the Army Medical Corps is an accomplished surgeon. He retired as Director General Surgery Pakistan Armed Forces and Head of Surgical Division at Army Medical College with which he is still affiliated as Prof. Emeritus. Apart from being a well-known surgeon, he also got recognition as a noted poet and so far six of his poetry books have been published.
ISLAMABAD: The first session during the Mid-Year DOCTORSCON 2016 organized by Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians at Islamabad on July 17th 2016 was devoted to Mother and Child Health. This session was chaired by Prof. Farid Zafar Principal Punjab Medical College and President of Society of Obstetricians & Gynaecologist of Pakistan along with Prof. Nasira Tasneem. Dr. Jay Kirshnan from PIMS was the first speaker who talked about Worm infestations.
