FAISALABAD: Health care workers are at a greater risk of exposure to Blood and other contaminated fluids during the course of their professional duties. Exposure to sharp edged items after and during their use is a major cause of spread of infections and Pricking of IV infusion bottle is also a potential source of spread of infections especially Hepatitis & HIV. This was stated by Dr. Roobina Head of Gynae & Obs. DHQ Hospital Faisalabad while performing the Otsuka Lucky Draw here recently.

She emphasized that regular education sessions and workshops for health care workers should be arranged as a quality improvement project. Earlier during presentation Mr. Moeen ud din Product Manager Otsuka Pak. Ltd. also shared internationally published facts and figures about the needle stick and sharps injuries and said that Otsuka is contributing for the prevention of Hepatitis spread by arranging number of awareness activities and by providing the quality products. Earlier Field Manager Faisalabad of Otsuka Pakistan Ltd. Mr. Zafar Iqbal Mirza briefly told the audience about the importance and activities of Saviors Club for the prevention of Hepatitis. In the lucky draw Dr. Fareed Ahmed won the prize of Medical services worth rupees fourteen thousand five hundred. (PR)
