Medical Writing and Scientific Publishing

Dear Shaukat Sahib,

It was an honour for me to be among the galaxy of editors like you as one of the contributors in the book “Scientific Writing: A Guide to the Art of Medical Writing and Scientific Publishing.

Dr. Nazik from Sudan told me about her meeting with you at EMAME-DHA Workshop on Scientific Writing and Publishing held at Dubai from June 22-24, 2018. She has also shared the screen-shots of this book on the FAIMER list serve. I have also received lot of appreciation from our colleagues in the FAIMER on the book.

It was all your hard work, dedication, and moreover, the trust that all the editors of Pakistan have in you. I wish that this book reaches to the international audience, and further bring name to our medical editors for all the hard work, they are putting in to improve the medical journalism in Pakistan.

I would like to thank you for sending me a complimentary copy of your latest book “Scientific Writing: A Guide to the Art of Medical Writing and Scientific Publishing”. After having a quick review of the book, I can safely say this book will go a long way in promoting quality and ethical research among doctors in Pakistan. I have no doubt that this book will add to your already established legacy as a top man in medical journalism and research in Pakistan.

You have been lone warrior in your struggle to establish medical journalism and promote research in Pakistan since 1966. You not only have maintained ethical practices in medical journalism and research yourself but also have promoted and taught new generation the same core values. I have nothing but respect and admiration for you.

I wish you best of luck for this book and for all your future endeavors.

Dear Mr.  Shaukat,

It was a great honour & pleasure listening to your presentations during the EMAME-DHA Workshop on Scientific Writing and Publishing held in Dubai from June 22-24, 2018. I must admit the subject of medical writing was never made so simple, informative, interesting and factual.

I wanted to request you to kindly send me your presentations so that I may revise and be equipped with the same, unfortunately the links on the pdf sent by the organizers were broken. I really appreciate your support

Great to see the write-up of the EMAME-DHA Workshop on Scientific Writing and Publishing  held at Dubai  recently published by you in Pulse International of July 1st 2018 issue. We would like to include a shorter article for the web pages here at EMRO based on your write-up. Would this be okay with you?

When Physicians enjoyed

more respect than the Kings

This refers to Off the Record column published in Pulse International of July 1st 2018. I just read this and I am again extremely grateful to you for promoting my father Lt. Gen. Malik Shaukat Hassan’s message. All of us who love Pakistan must vocally express our concerns on the situation we face today. We are the ones who will save our country, not some mystic Messiah.

Dear Shaukat

In the July 1st issue of Pulse International in “Off the Record” column you have written about late Lt. Gen.Malik Shaukat Hassan’s pleading about Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s death sentence and how Ziaul Haq did not accede to his request. This reminds me of an incident when Gen. Zia’s wife came to see my mother in Multan, my mother asked her why Zia does not release Bhutto? At this she said that” I have asked General Sahib this question and he replied”  if I release him he will send me to my death” .
